Each script that is submitted must be accompanied by a 10 Minute Play Cover Sheet. Students may submit two (2) plays in this category. Undergraduates interested in participating in this program should indicate their undergraduate status in the email text accompanying the submission of their 10-minute play(s). Undergraduate playwrights chosen for regular festival are not eligible for this new initiative. Four to six plays will be chosen for this new initiative by out-of-region selectors. They will work under the tutelage with the chair of DI and a designated professional playwright, who will oversee the development of these new plays. This new effort will connect playwrights with student directors, who will work to present readings of new 10-minute plays. This year, working in concert with the Region 2’s Directing Institute (DI), NPP is piloting a new initiative to develop undergraduate playwrights and directors. Following the readings, two of the plays will be selected as National Semi-finalists to be considered for the National Festival in Washington, D.C. The resolution of that conflict is what plays out across the remaining pages.
